The European Union Agency for Railways and the European Union Agency for Cybersecurity, with support from Estonian Railways, hosted the 5th Cybersecurity in Railways Conference on December 1-2, 2025 in Tallinn, Estonia. The annual event brings together cybersecurity professionals, researchers, industry experts, government officials, and practitioners to exchange knowledge on railway sector cybersecurity.
The 2025 conference moved from traditional venues in Lille and Athens to Estonia to connect more closely with railway cybersecurity project implementation. Topics covered included regional challenges and initiatives, cybersecurity policy updates (NIS2 directive, CRA regulation, European Commission TSI technical specification updates), capacity building and training for the railway sector, and feedback from national implementations and sector initiatives.
The event continues close collaboration between ERA and ENISA on cybersecurity in the railway domain, with support from the European Commission. The conference provides networking opportunities aimed at building a cohesive railway cybersecurity community across Europe.
