A coalition of US law enforcement agencies including the Association of State Criminal Investigative Agencies has sent a letter to Congress requesting greater authority to detect identify and mitigate drones that threaten public safety and security. The letter cites incidents including UAVs interfering with manned aircraft responding to Los Angeles wildfires and tactical operations being surveilled and disrupted.
