UK Government Publishes £20 Million Framework for Live Facial Recognition Technology

BlueLight Commercial has established a national multi-supplier framework for live facial recognition software running from April 2025 to March 2029. Three suppliers have been awarded places: Bedroq, Digital Barriers Services and NEC Software Solutions. The framework enables police forces across the UK to procure LFR solutions without separate competitive tenders. The software compares live camera feeds against watchlists to locate persons of interest by generating alerts when possible matches are found.
