The European Commission plans to adopt a revised EU Cybersecurity Act in the fourth quarter of 2025 as part of the ProtectEU strategy. The revised Act aims to clarify the mandate of the European Union Agency for Cybersecurity strengthen the EU Cybersecurity Certification Framework and simplify how businesses and public authorities engage with EU cybersecurity architecture. The revision aligns cybersecurity with broader economic and defence objectives placing digital security on level footing with energy and industrial policy. Public consultation ran from 11 April to 20 June 2025.
