On 22 April 2026, ENISA released the National Capabilities Assessment Framework 2.0, a revised self-assessment methodology for EU Member States to evaluate the maturity of their national cybersecurity strategies against a structured set of objectives. The updated framework covers cybersecurity governance and standards, capacity building, legal and regulatory measures, and cooperation. An accompanying updated online tool enables Member States to track progress at strategic and operational levels. The framework is the reference instrument for national authorities building the cybersecurity capabilities that underpin LE digital forensics, critical infrastructure protection, and NIS2 compliance.
