The European Commission’s DG Migration and Home Affairs hosted the Biometrics in Action event during Darmstadt Biometrics Week in Germany. The event brought together EU-funded researchers and security practitioners including representatives from Europol Frontex and eu-LISA. Projects showcased included CarMen for automated biometric identification of travellers POLIIICE for lawful interception in encrypted communications and LICORICE focusing on privacy-preserving identity management solutions. The forum addressed challenges and opportunities from emerging technologies in border management and internal security.
