EU Commits €129.6M to Digital ID Wallet Rollout

The European Commission has updated its Digital Europe Programme 2025–2027, allocating €129.6M to fast-track the rollout of the EU Digital Identity Wallet (EUDI) and European Trust Infrastructure. The goal: make wallets available by end-2026 across all Member States.

€77M for digital government interoperability
€67.6M for “Safer Internet” & age checks
€44.35M in procurement for wallet certification readiness
€10M + €5M in grants for EUDI & mobile driving licences (mDLs)

Four pilot projects have already tested 11 use cases with 360 public/private actors. The update aligns with the EU’s Digital Decade goal of 100% access to digital ID.
